Powdery Mildew Caused by Erysiphe cruciferarum on Wild Rocket (Diplotaxis tenuifolia): Hyperspectral Imaging and Machine Learning Modeling for Non-Destructive Disease Detection

چکیده

Wild rocket is a widely cultivated salad crop. Typical signs and symptoms of powdery mildew were observed on leaves Diplotaxis tenuifolia, likely favored by climatic conditions occurring in greenhouse. Based morphological features molecular analysis, the disease agent was identified as fungal pathogen Erysiphe cruciferarum. To best our knowledge, this first report E. cruciferarum D. tenuifolia. Moreover, present study provides non-destructive high performing digital approach to efficiently detect disease. Hyperspectral image analysis allowed characterize spectral response wild affected adopted machine-learning (a trained Random Forest model with four most contributory wavelengths falling range 403–446 nm) proved be able accurately discriminate between healthy diseased leaves. Shifts irradiance absorption chlorophyll spectrum blue seems at base hyperspectral imaging detection mildew.

Detection of Wheat Powdery Mildew by Differentiating Background Factors using Hyperspectral Imaging

Accurate assessment of crop disease severities is the key for precision application of pesticides to prevent disease infestation. In-situ hyperspectral imaging technology can provide high-resolution imagery with spectra for rapid identification of crop disease and determining disease infestation trend. In this study a hyperspectral imager was used to detect wheat powdery mildew with considering...

Notes on two powdery mildew fungi (Erysiphe magnifica and E. corylacearum) from Iran

Two powdery mildew species have been collected from Iran. For the first time, Erysiphe magnifica on Magnolia sp. was identified from Iran based on morphological and molecular characteristics. Erysiphe corylacearum was collected for the second time in the country and reported for the first time from Guilan province. There are some polymorphisms in ITS-rDNA sequences of...

Effects of Bunch Rot (Botrytis cinerea) and Powdery Mildew (Erysiphe necator) Fungal Diseases on Wine Aroma

This study aimed to characterize the effects of bunch rot and powdery mildew on the primary quality parameter of wine, the aroma. The influence of these fungal diseases was studied by comparative Aroma Extract Dilution Analyses (AEDA) and sensory tests. The effect of bunch rot was investigated on three grape varieties, namely White Riesling, Red Riesling and Gewürztraminer and that of powdery m...

Effects of punctuated heat stress on the grapevine powdery mildew pathogen, Erysiphe necator

Grapevine powdery mildew, caused by the ascomycete Erysiphe necator, is a major threat to grapes worldwide. Despite its global impact on grape production, E. necator is sensitive to adverse environmental conditions, such as excess heat, free water and UV radiation. Using detached leaf co-culture assays, 3-d-old single colonies of E. necator were exposed to 1, 2 or 3 consecutive d of punctuated ...
